ALCATRAZ Plus City Tour Details

INFORMATION ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO CITY AND ALCATRAZ COMBO :

On your City Tour you will see the Golden Gate Bridge, Marina Palace of Fine Arts, Cliff House, Nob Hill, Chinatown, Financial District, Presidio, Golden Gate Park, Civic Center and North Beach on this fun tour.

The City Tour includes 3 or 4 scheduled stops of 10-25 minutes at selected sights, including the Golden Gate Bridge and Twin Peaks - weather and traffic permitting. Other stops may include the Palace of Fine Arts, Cliff House and City Hall.

This is the most popular tour in San Francisco – it familiarizes you with The City and is an excellent way to see San Francisco in a short period of time. You will have time between the two tours for lunch in Fisherman's Wharf

Alcatraz Ferry and Cellhouse Tour: After a short 10 minute ferry ride across San Francisco Bay you will arrive on the infamous Alcatraz Island. The tour includes a movie of Alcatraz history and a 35 minute audio headset tour of an Alcatraz cell block. This audio tour is available in 6 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.

Please note that the walk to the Alcatraz Cellhouse is on steep, uneven pavement. SEAT (Sustainable Easy Access Transport) is available for wheelchair users and visitors unable to walk to quarter mile, 12% upgrade. No animals (except certified service animals) are allowed on Alcatraz Island.

After the tour there is time to visit the Alcatraz Museum, the bookshop and explore the island. Stay as long as you like – ferries depart every 1/2 hour back to San Francisco. Average time spent on Alcatraz is 1 1/2 - 3 hours.

Departure Times and Location:
The City Tour departs at 9:00 AM or 2:00 PM from 865 Beach Street in the heart of Fisherman's Wharf. Hotel pick-ups are also available. Passengers should meet at this address 15 minutes prior to departure.

The tour schedule for the day depends on the availability for Alcatraz ferry tickets.

For example, if Alcatraz Ferry is available in the morning; We will pick you up from your Hotel (if requested) and bring you to Fisherman's Wharf. You will pick up tickets for the Alcatraz Ferry direct from the Pier 41 "Will Call" window. After your Alcatraz Tour you return to the Ghiradelli Square Tour Office to join the City Tour at approximately 1:45 pm.

If there is no availability for Alcatraz ferry in the morning, upon arrival at Fisherman's Wharf you will start with the City Tour and then continue to Pier 41 and the Alcatraz Ferry and Tour in the afternoon.

The 2nd e-mail will be your receipt for the Alcatraz Ferry Reservation. Your Alcatraz Tickets will be held at Pre-Paid Will Call: Your Alcatraz boarding tickets will be held at the Alcatraz Cruise Marine Terminal at Pier 33. When you present your picture ID and credit card used on the reservation transaction the boarding tickets are printed. Be sure to show up 30 to 45 minutes before your cruise time!

Hotel Pickup:
On request basis at time of order. We pick up at hotels in the major tourist areas of San Francisco. Pick up from Airport and outlying areas is not available.

City Tour portion concludes at the original departure point in Fisherman's Wharf.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations within 24 hours of the tour are charged in full. Cancellations prior to 24 hours are charged a $10.00 per person administration fee. We charge for no shows.

Alcohol is prohibited on any sailing to Alcatraz Island, but is available for the return trip.
Schedules, service and prices are subject to change without notice. Due to operational consideration, Tour operators reserve the right to make vessel or tour substitutions when necessary.
