A good, basic tour to Muir Woods and Sausalito. You don't get to spend much time in either location, though. Maybe 45 minutes to an hour. It's fine for an overview of the locations, but if you want relaxed free time, this is probably not the best way to do it. But very good for first time visitors or hands-off tourist types. Hotel pick-up/drop-off is a plus.Jennifer S., United States, 08-2008

Muir Woods is beautiful, definitely worth seeing, Sausalito was OK, not great --- but there were some problems with the tour.
First, when we showed up at the wharf and inquired of a Gray Lines person as to where we would board the bus, she joked that the pick-up spot was "five miles away." We quickly realized she was kidding but I thought her behavior was not professional.
Second, and most annoying, the tour started late. The bus left about 25 minutes after the 2:15 p.m. posted time, apparently to sell more tickets as people kept boarding during the time delay. If the bus had left on time, we would have had more time at Muir Woods.
Third, we were not told the bus would be stopping at various hotels at the end of the tour to drop people off before returning to the main pick-up/drop-off point, and this nearly made us late for a dinner commitment. Some advance notice on this would have been appreciated.
Fourth, at Sausalito, the bus driver did not explain how we could take the ferry back to San Francisco if we wished to do that (the printed information received in advance had mentioned taking the ferry as an option, instead of riding the bus back to the city.) The driver just told us to spend a certain amount of time looking around and then re-board the bus to return to San Francisco.

The bus trip was excellent. The driver provided additional information regarding other areas of the city. The tour through the woods was left up to the discretion of guests. My preference would have been a guided tour through the woods. The length of time to walk through the woods could be longer.Evelyn M., United States, 08-2008
Excellent trip, highly recommended. Muir woods was fantastic. Our coach driver was brilliant and very funny. After the tour he let us get off at the golden gate bridge, this saved us a long bus ride back across San Francisco to see it at a later date... many thanks.stephen p., United Kingdom, 03-2008
