The San Francisco Nightime Segway Tour is the most sensational way to see the city by the bay! You will love gliding through the city on a Segway. This new nightime tour route will take you to the best views and hidden locations in Chinatown, BNorthbeach, Little Italy and the Waterfont.

 

A city as unique as San Francisco demands a one-of-a-kind way to tour it. And the Segway is the answer! Tours are by reservation only. Most tours sell out. Reserve early!

Tour Overview

After a 35-45 minute training on how to safely operate the Segway, you'll explore the San Francisco night! Reservations are required. Tours are limited to nine riders and ages 12 and up are welcome. All tours start on time, so please arrive 15 minutes early. We will run this tour on non-scheduled nights for groups of 4 or more. Please call.

 

San Francisco Night Segway Tour Route and Sights

Your narrated tour will feature spectacular evening views while you explore three neighborhoods:

• Tour begins in the West end of the Wharf.
• 1st neighborhood is North Beach – best known as San Francisco's' Little Italy. Enjoy the sights and smells of this culinary destination in the city.
• Tour stops near Washington Square Park and St Peter and Paul’s Church. Guests will learn about the history of the Beat generation in North Beach.
• 2^nd neighborhood is Chinatown a City inside the City. Cruise through historic Chinatown and see hidden alleys in the oldest and largest Chinese community outside of Asia.
• As tour goes further east enjoy night views of Transamerica Pyramid and the Ferry Building.
• Looping from the edge of the Financial District back towards the Wharf. Tour cruises alongside the historic Piers on the Embarcadero while enjoying views San Francisco Bay.
• Next stop is Fisherman's Wharf and its picturesque fishing harbors.
• Guide will take you to hidden gems like Fish Alley, Fisherman's Chapel, WWII Liberty Ship and Submarine Pampanito
• Visit behind the scenes where the fishing industry, fleet and seafood processing are located.
• See and hear the Dungeness crabs being cracked in stands located in the heart of Historic Fisherman's Wharf.
• Learn about how the Cable Cars operate and see the turnaround at the end of the Hyde Street Line.
• Everyone loves Chocolate!  See Ghirardelli Square and learn more about the chocolate that bears its name!
• Be amazed at the streamline design of National Maritime Museum and the fleet of historic sailing ships berthed at Hyde Street Pier

Rules of the Road for Segways in San Francisco: Segways are not allowed on sidewalks in San Francisco. We only offer guided tours. We use a combination of designated bike paths and low speed-light traffic streets to conduct our guided tours.

 

We stress courtesy, rules of the road and common sense when riding a Segway in the city. The San Francisco Electric Tour Company advocates safe tour routes, careful Segway use and detailed rider education. We want a positive tour experience for our guests and encourage respect for residents and visitors sharing the roads, sidewalks and bike paths in the city.

Eco Friendly Touring: Our goal is to let guests enjoy riding an eco-friendly Segway, see more sights that they could cover on foot and have lots of fun. An added benifit for the environment is a few less tour buses on the streets of the city each day.

Please indicate an alternate Night tour date in the event that your preferred tour is full or unavailable.

• Riders must be age 12 and older and weigh between 100 - 250lbs (45 to 115 kilos). Riders 12 - 17 years of age must be accompanied on tour by a parent or guardian.

• Segway Tour is Not Recommended for anyone over the age of 70 years or for guests with some mobility issues. Pleae call before booking to discuss. Pregnant women will not be allowed to participate in Segway Tour for safety reasons. No refunds for any member of your party if you do not meet these criteria.

For rider safety please no flip flops, sandals or high heel shoes.

 

Night Tour Departure Times and Dates :

Fall and Winter: November - March: 5:00 PM Friday and Saturday Nights - We will add additional days with a tour of 4 or more riders.

Spring and Summer: April until October: 7:30 PM Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Nights. We will add additional days with a tour of 4 or more riders.
Closed Christmas and New Years Day

LOCATION: Segway Night Tours depart from the rear parking lot at 757 Beach Street near the corner of Hyde Street. Located across Beach Street from the Hyde Street Cable Car turn around in Fisherman's Wharf. A Wells Fargo Bank ATM is at the entrance to our training area.

Important: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time to check in and start your tour and training on time. The tour and training will last 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Tours are limited to ten riders. Reservations are required.  IF YOU ARE LATE YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR RESERVATION Plan ahead - parking , driving times, public transit delays and traffic are always an issue: You must arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time to check in and start your tour and training on time! If you arrive late we will NOT let you join a tour group that has already started training and your reservation will be forfeited without a refund or reschedule. NO EXCEPTIONS

Return Details:
Tour concludes at the original departure point in Fisherman's Wharf.

Confirmation & Travel Voucher
For every confirmed booking you will receive an e-mail with a your E-Ticket Voucher - when your booking is confirmed. Please present this E-Ticket voucher at the Tour Office. This tour must be booked at least 12 hours in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation and E-Ticket travel voucher for this product will be received within 12- 24 hours subject to availability. NOTE: Your tour departure date and time is not confirmed until you recieve the email with the link to the E-Ticket travel voucher.

AGE /WEIGHT / RIDER REQUIREMENTS: To All Guests for the Segway Tour: All guests must be age 12 or older AND weigh between 100-250 lbs. (46-115 kilos) No pregnant guests. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian on the tour. No refunds for any member of your party if you do not meet these criteria. This activity is not recommended for guests age 70 and up.

• Riding a Segway is similar to riding a bike-it's intuitive but nobody is born knowing how to operate it. That's why we offer 35-45 minutes of training so you can get familiar with riding a Segway. A Segway is not an ideal mode of touring for people with some mobility issues. Please call before booking if you have questions.
• Pregnant women will not be permitted to participate due to fall risk.
• All guests must be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segway without any assistance, which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without assistance or use of a handrail.
• A Segway is not an ideal mode of touring for people with some mobility issues. You will be standing for 2 Hours. Please call if you have questions. This activity is not recommended for guests age 70 and up.
• The Segway is not appropriate for those weighing under 100 pounds or over 250 pounds(46-113 kilos.)
• Helmets and reflective vests are provided and required.
• We do require that all riders be at least 12 years old. Riders under 18 must be accompanied on tour by parent or guardian.

Liability Agreement:
All customers will be required to review and sign our tour agreement and liability waiver before starting their tour. The San Francisco Electric Tour Company assumes no responsibility for delays caused by accidents, breakdown, bad conditions of the road and other conditions beyond control, in addition to insufficient numbers of guests. Not responsible for loss or damage to property.

Changes to a Reservation, Cancellation and No Show Policy:
Reservations require a full deposit via Credit Card. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12- 24 hours subject to availability. We will send an e-mail confirmation of the specific date and time of your tour. Deposits are fully refundable if the reservation is canceled 3 days -72 hours or more prior to the scheduled tour. We have a limited amount of Segways for tour use. No Shows are charged in full. The deposit WILL NOT be refunded for any reason and bookings cannot be changed within 72 hours of your scheduled tour. A signed liability waiver is required prior to your tour departure.

IMPORTANT Check your Confirmation for Correct Date and Time:
It is your responsibility to be at the designated tour location on the correct date. Please check your confirmation carefully. No refund for no-shows.

Languages:
Segway tours are conducted in English.

Meals Souvenirs and Miscellaneous Costs:
Tour prices do not include Meals, Beverages, Admission Fees, Tolls or Souvenirs.

Tour Size, Routing and Weather:
We reserve the right to change the size or routing of the tour to meet demands for that specific day. San Francisco is famous for the fog! Our tours run fog, light rain or shine. We always suggest multiple layers of warm clothing for any San Francisco activity. Summer afternoon temperatures can be in the 50's. Rain gear is available for those infrequent rainy days. Segways are designed to run in any weather. If seasonal fog or weather obscures the view, tour routes may be altered. You will not be charged if we cancel a tour.

Hotel Pick Up:
We do not offer Hotel Pick up service for our tours.
